South West Hertfordshire Labour Constituency Covering Tring and Berkhamsted through to Croxley, Rickmansworth and South Oxhey
Samidha Garg was a senior contributor to the Dacorum Labour manifesto.
I’ve been a Labour member for 30 years, I joined when I first came to the UK from India because, for me, they are the only Party in tune with social justice.
I have been thinking about standing for council for about 10 years and about a year ago I received an email from my local Party calling for candidates and several things fell into place: After what the Tory party is doing to our country I knew we needed a viable alternative; the election of Jeremy Corbyn; and the chance to really get to know the community I live in.
Talking to people on the doorstep or sometimes while they’re gardening is why I’m doing this – and once the conversation moves away from the all consuming mess that is our government’s shambles of Brexit I find we have a lot of common ground and popular policies.
If you’d like to join Samidha out on the campaign trail she is out door knocking every Wed between 6-8pm and every Saturday & Sunday between 11-1pm until the local elections on 2nd May. Contact her at samidha.garg@neu.org.uk or chair@swhertslabour.org.uk for more details.
