Diary of a Youth activist
“I joined the Labour Party because I understood it offered an answer to the problems I saw my fellow school-students struggling with. Labour offer hope for my generation and for me represents the views of young people in their commitments to votes at 16, ending the neglect of schools and halting climate collapse.
I went to the Labour Live festival in 2018 and learnt a lot about the Party and so decided to see what my local Party was like by going to my first Branch meeting. It was interesting and friendly and I got involved in helping our local candidate Sian Cusack with her campaign by leafleting and canvassing. I have found that I really enjoy talking to people and listening to their experiences and concerns. It’s really nice when someone I’ve delivered a leaflet to thanks me for getting the Labour word out.”
