Dear comrades & friends,
I have always strongly believed that Labour is the Party which represents my core beliefs and values, as Labour stands for social justice, fairness and equality for all. Labour is the Party for everyone and has always stood on the side of ordinary people, whoever they maybe. That is why I am Labour and a proud socialist. make change
I’ve been a Labour Party member for over 10 years and have always been a vigorous supporter of the Party, as have my family
I have lived in Luton all my life and the last ten years I have seen and experienced the damage done to our communities by this government’s policies and draconian cuts:
- the closure of youth centres, post offices and facilities for the elderly
- reduction in family services
- crime spiralling out of control
This has given me a passion for politics, and I have been active in local, PCC and General elections. I have stood for election to the Council and was selected to represent Labour in the 2015 General Election in Reigate, where I increased the Labour vote.
I am 43 years old. I was born in Luton, where I went to local infant, primary and secondary schools. I did not attend further education as my father was taken ill and died shortly afterwards leaving me looking after my late mother and younger sibling. I have worked for most of my adult life in catering and distribution, both in London and Bedfordshire.
Kind regards, Ali Aklakul
