In preparation for the Women’s Conference in June our candidates for the new National Women’s Committee will be selected at the All Members Meeting on May 13th. The current list and short bio of the candidates proposed are on our website and this will be updated as new candidates are proposed.

If you would like to propose a motion for the Women’s Conference then please send details to the Secretary. They will be added to the Agenda for the next Meeting.

This Women’s Conference will be taking some very important decisions about the role of women in the party. There will be elections for a new National Women’s Committee. The committee will lead on political work relating to women members, organise women members, build the Labour Party amongst women across the country and strengthen the voice and presence of women throughout the Labour Party.

This year Women’s Forums will become Women’s Branches able to elect a committee to oversee and drive member’s engagement within and beyond the Labour Party. This change will take some time so in the meantime we could set up a virtual meeting to discuss what women across the CLP would like to achieve this year – please email gfspooner@hotmail.com.
