COVID 19

Nationally and locally Labour and the unions are working hard to protect and support anyone who needs it. Many of our SW Herts CLP members are helping out where they can with a variety of official and volunteer groups. If you cannot find what you are looking for below, please get in touch and our volunteer members  will do their best to help.

Voluntary Services

The best route to find local voluntary services is via Covid Mutual Aid. You can find your local group here.  Their principal aim is to support with errands, information distribution and emotional comfort.

DENS provides local access to Food Banks and shelter.  Also see the Rickmansworth and Watford Foodbank.  Citezen’s Advice should be able to guide you to any others.

If  you are self-isolating and would like to have a natter about politics or anything else we would love to hear from you.

Council Services

Hertfordshire County Council provides service updates and guidance.  Go to HertsHelp to let the Council know about someone who needs help.

Financial Services

We recommend  Money Saving Expert which is kept up to date with the latest specific help and advice.

Our 2020 Climate Emergency conference was held in Tring.

A positive to come out of the 2019 General Election election was a big increase in our active local membership.  It is an aim of Labour to become more embedded in our local constituencies and reactive to its demands.

We would value your input and help in any area that you would like to contribute, whether it is door-to-door campaigning, communications, Labour Party policy proposals or local activism.

Please contact Juliet, our chair, chair@swhertslabour.org.uk, or our membership secretary, vcmembership@swhertslabour.org.uk.
