Yet again the Government has failed to match its fine words on tackling the climate crisis with action. Parliament’s own Committee on Climate Change has just published a report which tells us that the Government has failed to put in place the policies needed to meet its global warning commitments. In particular, it talks about the “shocking failure to invest in home insulation with the result that British homes are now amongst the least well insulated in Europe.

This should not be allowed to continue. Nearly everybody I talk to now takes climate change seriously and support measures to reduce emissions. I appreciate that Covid-19 diverted Governments attention in a number of areas but this is an issue of major importance and so we need to be implementing measures now, rather than simply talk-the-talk. This is not even party political because all parties are agreed on the climate crisis. So let’s ask our local MP’s (Dean Russell (Watford) and Gagan Mohindra (SW Herts) what they are doing to keep Watford and Hertfordshire on track to reduce emissions and in particular, to insulate our houses.
